Whittington Hospital

Contract description:

Whittington Hospital is a district general and teaching hospital of UCL Medical School and Middlesex University School of Health and Social Sciences. Located in Upper Holloway, North London, it is managed by Whittington Health NHS Trust operating as Whittington Health, an integrated care organisation providing hospital and community health services. TECS Group has worked in partnership with this customer since 2021 undertaking a monthly servicing regime in-line with HTM-04. 

As part of our monthly servicing programme, we undertake a comprehensive regime of water temperature monitoring of the hot and cold-water systems, shower disinfections, water storage tank inspection and disinfection, TMV servicing and replacement, taking of water samples for Legionella, pseudomonas and TVCC and descales and calorifier inspections. Alongside our core servicing regime, we also undertake emergency disinfection works (where required).

Over the past two years we have supported Whittington Hospital with a wide range of projects including mechanical pipework alterations/ modifications and CWST installations with several additional projects due to be completed over the next 12 months. 

We have implemented a Water Safety Group which meets quarterly on-site with the Whittington Hospital Responsible Person and Authorising Engineer (AE Water) where we discuss our KPI and compliance performance. These meetings also provide a forum for TECS to present recommendations that will enable improved compliance across the Whittington Hospital estate. As part of our responsibilities at the hospital we also maintain Whittington’s compliance risk management software.
